Col. R.E.E. DeMontluzin, as of 1922 the eighth and last single owner of the 32,000-acre tract now called New Orleans East, Inc. had "a smooth, even face and the eyes of a dreamer." "If," deMontluzin told the reporter, "I thought money was all there was in this, I wouldn't touch it. What I am especially interested in, is the feeling I am doing something; that I am achieving an improvement; that I am accomplishing something that ought to be accomplished."
