The battered and well-used bass drum of Emile Knox, which for many years set the pace for the famous Tuxedo Brass Band, is presented to the New Orleans Jazz Museum Friday by the son of the drummer who carried the instrument. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Knox (right) look over the ancient instrument during presentation to the museum. At left is Martha Bendich, museum director. Emile Know, longtime member of the band who carried the little drum, died in 1976.

Photo is dated 1977.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.
