1969 Press Photo Awards for school safety patrolman in Metropolitan New Orleans

Medals to be given to more than 3,000 Mrs. Noble J. St. Amant (left), Mrs. T.J. Beauregard and Mrs. Joseph L. Meyer Jr. package awards. More than 3,000 school safety patrolman in the Metropolitan New Orleans area will be decorated for their life-saving work in traffic during the current school year. Because of the numbers, the safety patrolmen will receive their decorations in two separate ceremonies on consecutive Saturdays - May 17, when awards will be presented by the Metropolitan New Orleans Safety Council to parochial and private school patrollers, and May 24, when public school patrollers will receive their decorations. Both ceremonies will be held in connection with a movie at the Famous Theater, Elysian Fields and North Claiborne, at 9:30 a.m.
