1984 Press Photo Kurhaus Spa Grounds are Snow Covered, Weisbaden, West Germany

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Rhine Country, West Germany - Winter's first snow covers Weisbaden's famous Kurhaus spa, with its gambling casino, park and theater. Nature designed this gemutlich universe at resort spas eons ago, but it wasn't until 1 A.D. that the Romans reaped their pleasure. Emperor Caracalla and his legions wallowed in the mineral springs or "golden waters" because of their recuperative powers.

Photo is dated 1984.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
