1967 Press Photo Brazil General Consul, Joao Paulo de Rio Branco and company

The new Counsul General of Brazil, Joao Paulo de Rio Branco, was welcomed to New Orleans at a party held in his honor aboard the S.S. Del Norte, one of three combination passenger / cargo ships owned by Delta Steamship Lines. Mr. Rio Branco is pictured here with Captain J.W. Clark, left, president of Delta Line and Mr. F. Evans Farwell, chairman of the board of directors of the steamship firm. Some 200 people attended the cocktail party and buffet, among them many prominent New Orleans civic and business leaders.
