Description
Passing through the Industrial canal lock to enter the Intercoastal Canal from the Mississippi River is the fifth Saturn I flight vehicle (SA-5), which is being transported by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration vessel Promise. The Promise, carrying the first stage, instrument unit and payload, departed from Huntsville, Alabama, Sunday. It entered the Mississippi at Cairo, Illinois, reached here Thursday and is continuing its journey to Cape Canaveral, Florida, where it will arrived August 21. The SA-5 is scheduled for launching later this year from Cape Canaveral.
