Description
Southern Yacht Club - S.W. Provensal Jr., Glen Hagen. Commodore S.W. Provensal Jr. of the Southern Yacht Club points to the stability of the unique floating dock donated to the club by its inventor, Glen Hagen, 7824 Breakwater dr. The "Air Deck," as he calls it, is concrete, hollow and bottomless, yet it floats. Glen Hagen, a New Orleans inventor who holds more than 25 U.S. Patents, has devised a floating concrete dock that is bottomless and floats on air. He calls it an airdeck. The deck is supported by nine bubbles of air trapped in open bottom compartments. Using his new captured air principle, Hagen claims he can build concrete barges and platforms only one third as heavy as those of conventional design.
