Description
One Dark Night, Marshall Grundmann, sports writer on the staff of The Times-Picayune, rushed into the Tulane gymnasium after a thrilling basketball game and sat down to pound out his story. In the middle of the fourth paragraph, the janitor turned out the lights. Marshall finished the story in the dark as best he could, flying on instruments. Next day he was complimented by his associates. "We've seen all kinds of blind leads," they told him, "but never anything like this. You really had the readers with you because they were int he dark, too."

Photo is dated 1949.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
