1974 Press Photo Ocean Drilling & Exploration Company's semi-submersible rig

Ramparts of Fort McHenry, where "The Star-Spangled Banner" was written, form the background for this photograph of Ocean Drilling & Exploration Company's newest semi-submersible drilling rig. The Ocean Scout was being towed from Bethlehem Steel's shipyard to an anchorage in the Chesapeake Bay area for additional outfitting. It will be moved to Gulf of Mexico to work on a long term contract for Pennzoil Offshore Company.
