1956 Press Photo NOPSI construction work 3rd steam-electric station in Michoud

New Orleans Public Service Incorporated continued construction work on a third steam-electric generating station in Michoud during 1955. Scheduled to start operation in early 1957, the station's first turbo-generator unit will be of 102,000-kilowatt net capability. Progress on the construction of the turbine pedestal and a section of the circulating water tunnel may be seen in the photograph above, taken last October.
