1953 Press Photo Sam Mexic arrested at Sherry's Drug Store in Dumaine

Sam Mexic - Police narcotic officers seized 800 "goofballs" at Sherry's Drug Store, Dumaine and Dauphine today. However, no arrests were made. The officers said they were turning the seized material over to federal narcotic agents. A noon-hour raid on a busy St. Charles Avenue drug store today uprooted what police called the "goofball supply center for French Quarter prostitutes and degenerates." Sam Mexic, 48, of 5301 Magnolia.
