1959 Press Photo Mr. & Mrs. Adolph B. Mevers Sr., celebrate 50th Anniversary

On Saturday at a reception in the home of their daughter, Mrs. J.O. Main of 3141 North Robertson Street, Mr. & Mrs. Adolph B. Mevers, Sr. of 3140 North Villere Street were honored by the celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Mrs. Mevers, the former Theresa Neeb of Gretna and Mr. Mevers of New Orleans were married on November 24, 1909 in Saint Joseph's Church in Gretna. He is 74 years old and she is 72. They have four children and 10 grandchildren. The couple attended mass on Saturday at the Saint Vincent de Paul Church in New Orleans. Mr. Mevers is presently employed by the Ace Box and Lumber Company in Arabi. Louisiana as a supervisor.
