1967 Press Photo Delegates outside Metairie Saving Banks and Trust after robbery

An armed thug robbed the Metairie Savings Bank and Trust Company, 8338 Metairie Road, Monday just before closing time and fled with $4,000. George J. Ruhlman Jr., executive vice-president, said the bank was crowded with last minute customers at the time. No one was injured. He said an alert customer noted the robbery was in progress and notified a junior bank officer but the robber fled with the money.
