Description
O.E. Mikesell - Born in State of Washington, but reared and educated in State of Oregon. Graduate of Oregon State University in 1934. Secured additional training OSU in 1941. Served as County Extension Agent in Linn County, Oregon since 1934. In charge of 4-H program from 1934 to 1943. Appointed Chairman and agricultural extension agent in 1943. Worked closely with farmers in making Linn County leading grass seed producing county in Oregon. Provided leadership in developing a sound water resources program involving flood control, drainage and irrigation. At present, serving as director of Albany, Oregon Chamber of Commerce. At present, serving as Lieutenant Governor, Division 14, Pacific Northwest District Kiwanis International. Served as president of the Oregon County Agents Association in 1952, and has attended three National meetings of the County Agents Association. Received NACAA Distinguished Service Award in 1962.
