1973 Press Photo House at 2000 Carondelet Street of Lower Garden District

Lower Garden District - An iron fence encloses the spacious lawn of this old mansion in the 2000 block of Carondelet Street. It is one of the few impressively maintained homes in a section of the city so "gone down" that it is referred to by some as a "slum" or "ghetto."
