Skylines of old and new sections of New Orleans form backdrop for the new levee being constructed on the Vieux Carre riverfront from Ursulines to Wilkinson st. It is a joint $225,600 project of the Orleans Levee Board and the U.S. Corps of Engineers. The French Market is immediately behind the levee. Other parts of the French Quarter are dominated by the St. Louis Basilica. The modern New Orleans skyline is in left background.
