Mr. L. E. Stewart, Vice president of J. Ray McDermott & Co., Inc., today announced the completion of a new 300 foot long, 90 foot wide, 21 1/2 foot deep jet barge for burying underwater pipelines in water depths ranging from 500 to 250 feet. Named McDermott Jet Barge No. 2, this former cargo barge was converted by McDermott Shipyard into a deep water pipeline burying barge. Designed by McDermott's engineering group, using the knowledge of years of experience gained by the offshore construction section of the Company, the equipment will be put into service in the Gulf of Mexico.
