Description
Loads of rip-rap are dumped into a 12-foot deep hole which resulted Wednesday from a cave-in of about 75 to 100 feet in the Mississippi River levee about three and one-half miles south of the Intracoastal Waterway. While filing in the hole, the Army Corps of Engineers is studying the foundation of the levee to determine whether construction of a setback levee is needed.
