Mr. and Mrs. Harry O. Martinez, 440 Fairway Dr., Sunday celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at St. Francis Xavier Community Center. They have two children and eight grandchildren. Mr. Martinez, known as the "Gray Eagle" in the local sports world, retired as sports editor of The States-item in 1970 ending a 60-year newspaper career.
