The man to applaud, Joe Gemelli, local businessman and civic leader, takes a look at the "Spirit of Life Award" with Paul V. Burke, the honorary chairman of the testimonial banquet committee which put on an affair Tuesday at the New Orleans Hilton honoring Gemelli and establishing the Joe Gemelli Medical Research Fellowship. The banquet was the last of three fund-raisers held in the city for the City of Hope, a medical research center in Duarte, Calif.
