1994 Press Photo Biologists Russell Walters & Tom Hargis at Jean Lafitte Park

Biologists Russell Walters and Tom Hargis, of the National Biological Survey at Southern Science Center, in Lafayette, travel by air boat across the flotant marsh in Jean Lafitte National Historical Park-Barataria Unit to check data stations and take core samples once a week as part of a three year long study of flotant marshes. The pair are working at downloading information at one of the water level stations.
