Construction of Old River Lock, located just off the mouth of Old River and the Mississippi River in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, under Contract No. DA-16-047-CIVENG-60-41, dated 10 August 1959 with Brown & Root, Inc. Houston, Texas. The excavation and levee fill under Contract No.DA-16-047-CIVENG-58-609 dated 27 June 1958 with Atlas Construction Co., Inc., Vidalia, Louisiana. Funds: FC, MR&T. Reinforcing steel and concrete work in progress. Section of lock wall under construction. Steel reinforcing rods in place.
