1968 Press Photo Red Ross inspects 5,000-year-old woven mat found in Hogup Cave

Student archeologist Red Ross, from Reno, Nevada, inspects fragment of 5,000-year-old woven mat found in Hogup Cave in Northwestern Utah. The area is so dry that artifacts as old as 8,000 years were found in good state of preservation.
