Parabolic Antennas or "dishes" atop this small building relay microwave signals to tall tower in this new installation at the Illinois Central railroad's Mays Yard at Harahan. The network extends as far as Chicago and transmits data about railroad equipment, plus administrative messages. Shown here are E.C. Bickham (left), equipment maintenance supervisor, and W.R. Brown, communications and signals supervisor.
