1968 Press Photo Dedication of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library on Newcomb pl.

Located on Newcomb pl. at Tulane University, the new $3 million Howard-Tilton Memorial Library was dedicated Friday in conjunction with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Tulane Alumni Association and the 75th anniversary of Tulane football's start. The four-story structure has a capacity of 1,200,000 volumes and total seating for 1,385 patrons. Made of tan concrete and smoked glass, the building has a floor area of 220,000 square feet.
