Five new Methodist ministers to the city have assumed new pastoral duties here. They are Reverend William O. Byrd, pastor of First Methodist church; the Reverend Allen W. Townsend Jr., pastor of Munholland Memorial Methodist church; the Reverend George Harkins, pastor of Parker Memorial Methodist church; the Reverend Ned L. Stout, pastor of the Elysian Fields Methodist church and Reverend Dalton Pickering, associate pastor of Munholland church. A sixth pastor the Reverend Edwin Barksdale, was transferred from Parker Memorial to St. Paul's Methodist church of Harahan.
