Halsey, editorial director - While school children around the country are busy looking things up in Macmillan's Merit Encyclopedia, the Macmillan Educational Corporation is busy updating next year's reference books. This 1973 edition is a new, revised version of the encyclopedia. First published in 1967 the work is the most recently compiled of all the top quality reference sets and it contains no material collated before that date. It is designed to be used by and with students from the upper elementary grades through senior high school and even into beginning college; it is also suitable for popular adult use when specialist information is not a paramount requirement.
