While swimmers splash in Lake Pontchartrain, a family holds a picnic in the shade of an oak tree along the seawall Sunday. The national holiday and gentle weather brought visitors to the city's park areas by thousands. Cool breezes and partly cloudy skies were a welcome change from the recent wave of heat and humidity in the Crescent City.
