1951 Press Photo Car dealers defense role cited at Automobile Dealers convention

The nation's auto dealers will be responsible for continuing to get workers to defense plants, the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association was advised. The group, holding its annual convention at The Roosevelt, was told by Roy H. Appleman, assistant general sales manager of the Chrysler Division of the Chrysler Corporation, that 75 percent of the defense workers depend on private cars to get to their jobs.
