Comforting sobbing Joseph Dechess, 50, after Dechess wife died Monday in a fire in the bedroom of their home in Columbus, Ohio, is Police Sergeant Roland Warner. Ironically, Dechess, a sign painter, had been working in his basement workshop on a sign which said "Prevent Fires." Dechess said: "I tried to save her, but I couldn't." He went upstairs and found smoke billowing from the bedroom.

Photo is dated 1966.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.
