1971 Press Photo Juli English, 11, cries as grand champion steer is auctioned

Juli English, 11, tries hard to hold back the tears as Clyde, the Indiana State Fair Grand Champion steer, is auctioned for $2,800. Juli, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin English of Clayton, Indiana, also received a $1,500 scholarship from the buyer, Stark Wetzel and Company. Clyde weighed in at 1,096 pounds. Juli at 89.
