Description
Conferring at the Metropolitan New Orleans Youth Problems Clinic at the Tulane University Medical School Auditorium Saturday were (from left) George Saporito, executive director, Louisiana Association for Mental Health; Bailey de Bardeleben, general chairman of clinic; Dr. L.L. Bourgeois, chairman, Department of Sociology, Loyola University and Dr. Harry C. Bredemeier, director, Youth Opportunities Project, Urban Studies Center, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Unless the family can be restored to its proper place, one of major American values, the efforts of social workers will be in vain, a sociologist told a Youth Problems Clinic Saturday. Sociologists must concern themselves with how to preserve humanistic values in a technological society where the emphasis is placed on economic or material productiveness, he said.
