The interior of the Gentilly Orleans Theater is a mass of charred timbers and wrecked seats following a fire early Tuesday which heavily damaged the Gentilly Boulevard structure. Two firemen were taken to Mercy Hospital during the blaze but were not admitted, according to a spokesman. The fire began about 1:15 a.m. and escalated to a five-alarm blaze before being brought under control about an hour and a half later.
