Installation of Gerald A. Vieages as commander and Mrs. Grace Barrios as president of American Legion Post No. 229 and its auxiliary was announced Sunday. Other post officers installed at the post home: 7306 West End Boulevard include: Maurice Pender, first vice-commander; William O'Neil, second vice - commander; Charles A. Thompson, finance officer; Larry Federico, adjutant; Joseph Parker, sergeant-at-arms; Edgar A. McClain and Norman Short, color bearers; Moses Johnson, chaplain; and Joseph Toca, Eldred Osterle and Edward A. Therlot, executive committee.
