1945 Press Photo Audubon Park Zoo - Mina, American Bison, With Her New Baby

Audubon Park Zoo - New arrival, three and a half hours old - "Mina" the Audubon Park Zoo's American Bison, watchfully eyes her 47.5-pound infant. The photographer who made this picture from the top of the fence watchfully eyed Mama Buff, and was glad when the assignment was over. George Douglass, Audubon Park superintendent, wants the public to help name the infant, and urges them to send in suggestions. The youngster's one-year-old sister is named "Nickel."
