New Orleans Audubon Zoo - Looking ferociously through the bars of her cage at Audubon Park Zoo is the newly acquired white-handed Gibbon ape. It has white paws and feet and white around its snout. It is a female, 2 1/2 years old and weights about 25 pounds Though she is snarling, the animal has an affable disposition and allows attendants to scratch her back through the bars. The Gibbon ape is native to Southeast Asia and adjoining islands.
