1967 Press Photo Association for Retarded Children - Children Play a Game

Association for Retarded Children - Simple tasks learned readily by most children are mastered only with constant practice and repitition by these retarded children. To help more of them learn these basic skills, the Association for Retarded Children is seeking to raise $120,000 to build more classrooms. The classrooms would be in a new building adjacent to the Sophie L. Gumbel Center, 5700 Loyola, where present day care classes are held in limited quarters. The new building would double enrollment of the mentally retarded and provide modern facilities and up-to-date equipment.
