1944 Press Photo Chicago Museum Acquires Largest and Oldest Ostrich Egg

When it was stated that the Chicago Museum had acquired the largest and oldest egg in the world, Dr David H Dunkle of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History bobbed up with the egg at left that is said to be the largest, and equally as old as the Chicago egg, compared with an ostrich, seen at right, the Cleveland Museum egg, discovered in the valley of the Yellow River in China, is 21-inches in circumference, and 19-inches short. It is said to be between 25,000 and 50,000 years old--but after a year on two, what difference does it make in the age of an egg?
