1949 Press Photo Lyman Ellefson Held on Charges of Poisoning Family Members

Lyman Ellefson (L), 22, former University of Iowa student, is being held on a charge of poisoning his grandfather. The case was investigated after his mother and grandmother also died under mysterious circumstances. Ellefson's eagerness to have the bodies cremated attracted suspicion. The grandfather's body had not been cremated and was discovered to contain poison on being exhume. Attorney Warren C Schrempp is at the right.
