Description
The World's Fair prize student is now teaching. Mrs Clarence L Upton, wife of a Jackson Heights, L.I., lumber man, had a chance to study art this summer at a NY art school. She turned it down to come to the World's Fair of 1940 in NY each day to listen to art lectures by American's outstanding art critics at the Masterpieces of Art exhibit. She attended more than 125 lectures, and now she has the approval of the exhibit's director general, Walter Pack, to lecture at the galleries herself. Tonight she brought her first group -- nearly 100 men and women from Jackson Heights who are interested in the masterpieces. Photo shows Mrs Upson tells Jackson Heights men and women of Rembrandt's technique in painting "The Rabbi with the Big Hat."

Photo is dated 1940.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
