1953 Press Photo County Recorder Joseph Ropa reports record real estate activity

Real estate activity in Cook County in 1953 is running substantially ahead of the preceding year reports County Recorder Joseph Ropa. Ropa said a total of 78753 property transfers were wecorded in the first 11 months of this year compared with 70713 for the same period a year ago. With Decembers volume still to be totaled 1953 was already ahead of the final figure of 76290 transfers for all of 1952. Recordings of trust deeds and mortgages from January through November hit $930138726 far ahead of the $779944844 for the same period a year ago.
