Every week new life-saving devices and improvements to air merchant seamen are tested by the British Ministry of War Transport. Fire-proof hoods from the crews of tanker, anti-exposure suits fitted with electric lights so that the wearer can be spotted at night, motor life-boats fitted with automatic radio, vitamin rations and fire fighting apparatus are among the latest devices which the ministry hopes to install on every ocean going vessel.
