Baron Philipp Korf of St John ' s Wood , who in November appeared at West London police court on a charge of obtaining  £ 3 , 500 by false pretences from Mrs Lily Wooding , a wealthy widow of Purley , was married to Mrs Wooding at Marylebone Register Office , London . Baron Korf is 34 and is described as a merchant of Austrian nationality . He is on bail pending the trial of his case at the Old Bailey in January .
