Exhibiting their badges of health, a line of children in Sachakhera, India, hold up their arms for inspection by Dr. Sohan Lal Khosla. Dr. Khosla is chief of a UNICEF-aided mobile health team which visits villages in India to wage a war against tuberculosis. Each child bears an indelible ink mark on his arm indicating he has been tested for tuberculosis. The children with negative reactions are vaccinated with BCG serum which immunizes them for three to five years. UNICEF has contributed vehicles for 100 Indian health teams, personnel to train them and equipment for permanent tuberculosis control clinics.

Photo is dated 1956.
