1942 Press Photo Lilly Fern Thompson Rescued from Sloop Wing On Los Angeles

Mrs. Lilly Fern Thompson shows her son, Tommy, 2 1/2, and daughter, Jackie, 3 1/2, the log of the voyage that started as a South Seas pleasure cruise and ended in death of her husband Chester, and Mr. and Mrs. Delton Conly of Oakland. In her first interview since she was rescued aboard sloop "Wing On" almost a year ago, Mrs. Thompson told how she had been tied to the mast so she could use her waning strength to held with the sail.
