In San Francisco, Lucille Turcotte and Max Welton Francis began a fight for their five-year-old daughter, Maxine, born them out of wedlock. When Francis secured a divorce from his former mate, Mrs. Turcotte returned to Canada to seek freedom from a husband still living there. Meanvwhile, Francis had remarried and while Mrs. Turcotte was away, took care of their daughter. Now, the mother wants custody of their child and the father seeks to adopt Maxine legally.
