Description
When employees at the Strauss Stores in Masreth, New York, complained that offices were not satisfactory, President I.M. Strauss gave them a quarter of a million dollars to fix up the place. The workers accepted the boss' generosity and went to work on the project. Their new dream offices will open on October 23rd. Offices now have salon music, television sets, a dining room staffed with three cooks, flower banks, elevators, chrome stall showers, deep rugs, glareless lights, lounges, a ten-foot bar, and a log fireplace. I.M. Strauss, President of the Strauss Auto Accessory Stores, chats with some employees in the new lounge. Note the rug, armchairs, flowers, and at right, drinks. Left to right are Walter Krzepek; Strauss; William Moser; Sam Restagno; and Connie Lioci.

Photo is dated 1948.
