1944 Press Photo Ann Brokaw Daughter of Clare Boothe Luce Dies in Auto Accident

Representative Clare Boothe Luce, of Connecticut (right) lost her daughter, Ann Brokaw (left), as the 19-year-old child of an earlier marriage was killed in an automobile accident in Palo Alto, California. A senior at Stanford University, Ann had been visiting her mother, who was speaking for the Republican Party in San Francisco. Mother and daughter are shown together at Hartford, Connecticut, in late 1942.
