1938 Press Photo Camille Chautemps Leaves Interview with President Albert Lebrun

Chautemps is shown speaking to newspapermen after leaving the Elysee Palace following the interview in which he refused to try to form a new cabinet to replace the one he had headed. Following efforts of Finance Minister Georges Bonnet and former Premier Leon Blum to form cabinets in France's latest governmental crisis, Chautemps came back and formed a cabinet in which the Communist Party does figure strongly.
