In Los Angeles, California, Mrs. J.E. McBride of Detroit, mother of Evelyn Wright, slain wife of Paul A. Wright attempts to protect her "daughter's name and character against any insinuations, innuendoes or gossips." With her, Mrs. McBride brought a series of letters written by her dead daughter. The letters told of a stormy marital life -- and hinted at "a break to come." Mrs. McBride will aid the prosecution in its fight to convict Wright, former airport chief, of the double slaying. Shown are Mrs. J.E. McBride and Attorney Owen Emery, seated; Deputy District Attorneys J.M. Leavy, and S. Ernest Roll, stand, left to right, They are discussing trial plans.
